Bringing International Service-Learning to Middle Schools
Every day of the year, Outreach360 serves children living with fewer opportunities and burdened by the limitations of poverty, through our dynamic education programs made possible by our creative and enthusiastic volunteers. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to live a life of choice and that by harvesting the power of human potential, together we can make a difference. But, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight! It happens when passionate volunteers come together and work to create a better future for all. At Outreach360, we create a safe, affordable, and exciting way for middle school students to be a part of making a difference in the world and giving children a life of choice.
I have volunteered with Outreach360 four times and each time I feel like I learn something new. Outreach360 and the children it serves have taught me about the meaning and impact of service, about gratitude and leadership, about passion and love. The smile on the faces of the children as they explore the value of learning are what brings me back to Outreach360 time after time. I always leave feeling as is I have received from the kids even more than I gave to them.Anna Boyd, Saint Stephens Episcopal School
Outreach360 continues being a wonderful and powerful program. I love that my students get a different perspective of life and that they do not only teach ¨English¨ to the kids from Jinotega, but the kids from the Learning Center also teach them valuable life lessons.Mariangela Asato, Seabury Hall School
Much like a prospective parent can never know what it is REALLY like to have a child until he or she holds his own in his arms, one cannot believe the impact the Outreach360 experience can have on a person until he or she has been involved. It broadens perspectives about the world, humbles people and teaches invaluable lessons about grit and perseverance. The program leadership is exceptional and young people could not have better role models to learn from. You will experience incredible fun, but it won't be traditional fun. The food rocks and cold showers feel amazing in 95 degree weather. I now understand how lives are changed by taking part in the Outreach360 experience.Jennifer Scott, College Counselor, Norfolk Academy, Virginia
The organizational planning and service oriented staff did an incredible job of setting expectations, offering leadership and guidance. The week schedule combined the volunteer work, the cultural classes and the right amount of free time. I appreciated the cultural classes in the evening! The Nicaraguan children were the highest highlight! They loved coming to class and that reflects well on Outreach 360!Patrick Sweeney, Superintendent of Schools, Napa Valley Unified School District, California
Outreach360 is an amazing organization. If you or a group are looking to do a service trip abroad, look no further. Outreach360 runs a tight ship and I know that I, and the school I run, will continue to work with Outreach360.Ryan Kelly, Headmaster, Carrollwood Day School, Florida
Volunteer With Us!
Outreach360 strives to serve children living in the poorest of neighborhoods by providing opportunities that empower them to transform their own lives. Drawing strength from the experience, diversity, talents and resources of our volunteers, we promote innovative education as a solution to the challenges of poverty and a sustainable path to a life of choice. As a middle school team, you will fill this critical role in education, providing engaging and meaningful learning activities for children at Outreach360 Learning Centers or in local neighborhoods. However, changing the world is a two way street! Not only will your middle school students be working to transform the lives of local children, but in the process they too will experience change. At Outreach360 we believe that volunteering in authentic experiential service programs is the best way to develop global awareness and that the magic of cultural exchange promotes active world citizenship.
Health & Safety
The health and safety of our volunteers is our number one priority! Since 1994, our more than 22,000 volunteers have enjoyed a safe experience with Outreach360. Our professional and reliable program has always ensured volunteer security, allowing our volunteers to focus on serving. With our experienced leadership team, trusted emergency procedures, and industry-leading Foreign Global Liability Insurance, schools and parents can rest assured that their students are safe and healthy.
Education & Service
We make it a point that our volunteers are involved in meaningful service work through which middle school teams can make a real difference in the community. We also see the importance in learning about the community, culture and needs of the area in which you are serving. Because of this, we have built amazing cultural and educational experiences throughout the week.
