"It was a very moving experience. It opened my eyes to different life styles in a country that does not have a lot but yet did not seem to be suffering. The people were always welcoming and friendly."
Patricia Magee, Pittsburg State University
"Absolute best experience of my life! [Outreach360] is something you have to experience for yourself to really GET it. LIFE CHANGING!"
Lily Williams, Pittsburg State University
"Teaching students in the school was rewarding and exciting. Touring the facilities of some of the agencies in Monte Cristi was enlightening. The drug/alcohol rehabilitation center showed the resiliency of the community and the people of the DR. The United States could take some lessons from this program."
Mary Zeigler, Pittsburg State University
"This trip moved me in every way possible, I will carry these children in my heart as long as I live."
Paige Evans
"My life is changed forever because of this trip. The boys at the Orphanage opened their hearts and welcomed me into their lives. Their love for learning and their love for each other is inspirational. These children have touched my life in more ways then I could have ever imagined. This has been such a rewarding experience and I would return to Esperanza in a heartbeat."
Jennifer Kish, Plymouth State University

"My time spent with [Outreach360] was easily one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced."
Nicholas Connell, Plymouth State University
"It was the most incredible experience! You don't need to worry "will the kids like me?" They love everyone. Even if your kind of shy it doesn't matter because their not. As long as you're visible one of them is sure get you involved in some activity. Knowing some Spanish is helpful but not critical. If you don't understand them they will just take you by the hand and show you what they want you to do. They taught me more then I taught them. I highly recommend this trip to anyone willing to give of themselves. You won't be disappointed!"
Lauren Danzi, Plymouth State University
"I have never experienced anything like it. All I know is that I had a wonderful time and found that working with the children did not only have a positive effect on them, but on myself as well. I would return to the Dominican in a heartbeat. The experience truly changed the way I view the world."
Daniel DeSantis, Plymouth State University

Chappell Price, Porter-Gaud School
"I left my[Outreach360]experience with so much more than I entered it with and I'm proud to be a member of the[Outreach360]team. Hopefully soon I will be able to put on another brightly colored[Outreach360]t-shirt and serve again."

"I would recommend this program to anyone who is interested in helping kids. There were a lot of really smart kids there who were very interested and wanted to learn. By going and working with them you are helping them to realize and fulfill their potential. It is very rewarding because you can see them grow and learn every day you are there with them."
Jennifer Austin, Princeton University
"This trip was the most eye-opening experience of my life. The children were so enthusiastic about learning, and they had a great outlook on life. They were so supportive of each other and respectful of the counselors, it amazed me! I think that anybody who went on this trip would absolutely love it, and it will change their life in a positive way."
Caroline Carter, Princeton University
"The month at Laguna Salada touched on every expectation I had, and far exceeded most. It's a culturally rich place, filled with tradition and character and one I was happy to call home. Working with these kids allowed me to feel like I was making a great deal of change in their lives, but living in their home with them allowed them to make unforgettable changes in mine. Their capacity to love a diverse group of people is what makes the trip all that it is. I can't wait to go back!"
Mary Coyne, Princeton University
"It is so rewarding, no where else can you have such a rich experience in so short a time... It would be impossible to participate and not get the feeling that this one short week will retain its significance in your memory and your life for a long time."
Liza Davies, Princeton University
"[Outreach360] was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It was emotionally challenging, but at the same time it was fulfilling. I never thought I could make a real difference in the lives of these children when I signed up to go, but during the week I could actually see the differences that the other volunteers and I were making in the lives of these unfortunate children. I wouldn't trade my experience in the Dominican Republic for the world."
Jessica George, Princeton University
"I am so glad I had the experience of the week in the Dominican republic with the orphans. It was amazing to be able to teach them and know that, in the long run, this program is making a difference in their lives. These boys will have better lives because of [Outreach360].""
April Schachtel, Princeton University
"I loved it, I want to go back and never come home. Being involved with [Outreach360] is something that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. The pace of life, the happiness of the people, the value of every moment that you spend with a child is what makes it ideal. The Dominican race as a whole is so beautiful, quite literally and figuratively. The Dominicans are the happiest and kindest people that I have ever met, and yet, they have nothing. Children take care of each other, mothers are so generous with the little that they have; the feeling of safety and love that I felt in the Dominican Republic pretty much sums it up."
Sarah Schaffer, Princeton University
"This trip was the best experience of my life. It really taught me to appreciate life and the love the children gave me made the whole trip worthwhile. After all, we are the world, we are the children, we are the ones to make a better day, so lets start giving."
Christen Abrams, Providence College
"It is without doubt that my experience in Esperanza has had a mind-altering effect on the way at which I perceive the exquisite world we live in. Before the trip, I was extremely enthusiastic to assist the children; yet; I never envisioned the immense effect the warm hearts of the orphans, volunteers, and the townspeople would consequently have over my life. Each child has marked a vital place on my spirit which will perpetually allow me to remember and appreciate the significant values of life!"
Diana Afonso, Providence College
"The [Outreach360] experience taught me that a little of my time and a little bit of my effort can impact many children's lives. Not only did the children learn from me, but I learned a lot from them."
Krystal Alves, Providence College
"Words cannot do justice to the experience I had in Esperanza. I went down to the Dominican Republic hoping to touch the life of at least one child but had no idea how much they would touch my heart. When I first arrived, all I could see was the emptiness and dirt immediately visible to the eye but that image was soon filled with the laughter and love of these amazing young boys and all I could see was the true beauty that existed there. I feel truly blessed that I had the opportunity to work with these boys and was able to share this experience with the other incredible, enthusiastic and loving volunteers I met there. My time spent in Esperanza and the big, loving smiles of those boys will remain with me forever."
Amy Barrett, Providence College
"This trip has really made an impact in my life. All the children were so grateful for everything they had, even though it was next to nothing. It made me realize how lucky I am for everything I own, and also that I have loving parents. This trip really does make a difference; you can really make an impact on someone's life through this experience. The donation money raised helps fund a scholarship program so the orphans can go on to university, and the other donations are given to the orphans, the schools, and others who need it. Giving one week of your time can improve someone's life there, and it will definitely change yours."
Kayla Boutin, Providence College
"My time is Esperanza was incredible. The whole trip has changed my perspective forever, and has impacted my everyday life tremendously. My memories of the boys at the orphanage bring a smile to my face time after time. I feel that this trip is one that everybody, especially young adults, should experience. It brings rewards of love, laughter, accomplishment and pride, and instills a strong feeling that one person can make a difference."
Emily Brod, Providence College
"When people ask how me how my trip was I have found it difficult to put my experience into words. Yet after much reflection I now tell people that I learned one thing on my trip and it is that "Love has no language barrier!! Piggy back rides, holding hands, tears, hugs, kisses, and smiles spoke 100 times louder than any words could! Spanish, English, it didn't matter, Love was our means of communication!!!!"
Kristen Bushey, Providence College
"I tell people that my trip was absolutely amazing. It was both life changing and self-motivating. It aroused within me a sense of urgency to help others. It was depressing, yet uplifting all at the same time. I left confident that I had made a difference in the children's lives. The memories I made in Esperanza I will always hold close to my heart, and I will never forget the smiles that I helped to create."
Molly Case, Providence College
"When I first read about this trip over e-mail I was interested in the opportunity to go to a third world country and offer my help. I had no idea that I would get as much out of this trip as I did. I left with such a different perspective on the important things in life and a greater appreciation for all that I have, especially my family. I never dreamed of feeling sad and even crying when I left, but it was hard to leave such great kids. It was an amazing experience!"
Anne Cella, Providence College
"It was truly amazing to see all of the changes that we made there in one week. We touched the lives of so many children, and we received the same gift in return, which was more than any of us could have asked for."
Devan Chase, Providence College
"Living and working at the orphanage in Esperanza was an incredible and moving experience. The people were so friendly and the kids were an inspiration. I learned so much and I would go back in a heartbeat! What a great way to spend my spring break!"
Shannon Clarkin, Providence College
"For every ounce you give you get back tenfold; it's seeing a child learn something new or finishing a work project - the little victories make it all worth it."
Marsha Dufort, Providence College
"If you are yearning to be a part of a program that you can feel is making an immediate and lasting difference, then [Outreach360] is the way to go. This program is unique in that the hands-on action of the volunteers IS the reason for its success. By the end of just one week, I was amazed at the emotional, educational, physical and psychological goals that had been reached, by both the volunteers and the boys at Esperanza. [Outreach360] has given me the unique opportunity to become an integral link within an ongoing chain that cannot be broken."
Julia Dunn, Providence College
"Going to the Dominican Republic was great experience for me and I definitely want to go back. If for no other reason than to see how people outside of the U.S. live, it will be a valuable experience for you. You'll meet great people, while having a good time, and doing something good for the kids. The help is definitely needed and you will feel your making a difference."
Andrew Durham, Providence College
"This was an amazing and life changing experience. Being able to teach and learn from others was incredible. There was so much support and love. It felt wonderful to make a difference."
Kathryn Dykas, Providence College
"The week I spent in Esperanza was simply just too short. Words can not explain how much the people of Esperanza, children of the orphanage, volunteers, and the [Outreach360] program as a whole touched my heart. As a volunteer you give so much to this program, but you honestly leave feeling that [Outreach360] has given you even more. I feel as though every aspect of my life has been transformed and I now look at the world in a new light. But most importantly [Outreach360] has given me a second home and I plan to return home in the near future."
Mary Fisher, Providence College
"My trip to Esperanza was a life changing experience. I was hoping to go to the Dominican Republic and make all kinds of changes, but I found that this experience changed me. I found out what kind of changes love and caring could produce, the importance of family and relationship- the important things in life. I will never forget my week there."
Lisa Fortin, Providence College
"You will never experience something as amazing as this trip in your life if you let this opportunity pass. The spirit and love in the orphans themselves and the massive impact you can make in just one week is unbelievable; it gives you a real sense of importance and by the end of the week you'll be in love w/ the orphanage."
Sarah Gudernatch, Providence College
"Orphange Outreach was to put it simply, the best and most rewarding experience I have had in my entire life. Not a minute goes by where you are not constantly making a difference, whether it be by teaching a group of school children about the weather, or holding a little boy in your arms while he falls asleep. Everyone should have the opportunity to feel this important, and I know I can not wait to go back!"
Sarah Gudernatch, Providence College
"I cried the day after I came back from the Dominican Republic because I was so thankful and taken aback by the amazing experience I just had. I loved how connected we were with the community while in the Dominican Republic. Every child I encountered was extremely special, warm, and had an amazing spirit. I am forever changed by the experience I had in the Dominican Republic."
Molly Heverling, Providence College
"This trip showed me the immense impact seven days can have on so many lives. The children thrive on the love and support of the volunteers, and I can't imagine not having had my eyes opened by these amazing kids! It is a week that will remain with me for a long time."
Elizabeth Holland, Providence College
"This program exceeded my expectations in every way. It was the best thing I've ever done in my life. As equally as I gave to these boys and touched their lives, they gave to me and changed mine. I have never felt so much love before in one place. These boys are so special and I know that I will never be the same again. Their memory will be with me always."
Emily Lapolice, Providence College
"I very much enjoyed being in the classroom with the kids teaching English. I was a great experience working with the kids and working with the teacher. One of the highlights for me was definitely seeing our teacher enthusiastic to learn the material as well, and her sadness when we left. Friday was THE highlight of the trip for me. I absolutely loved seeing the market at Dajabon, and the beach was incredible. The entire day was amazing. I can't imagine having a better day."
Katrina Lipinsky, Providence College

"I have been on two [Outreach360] trips and thoroughly enjoyed them both. It is not only a great opportunity to serve others, but also a fabulous educational and cultural experience."
Heather Rennie, Providence College
"[Outreach360] absolutely changed my life. Not only was I given the chance to interact with, teach, and learn from the children of Monte Cristi, I was totally immersed in the local culture. Through hikes, trips into town, the food, and talks on the history and culture of the Dominican Republic, I truly gained a new insight into the world. There is no better way to offer yourself to those who need your assistance. You can volunteer and gain an entirely new cultural experience."
Betsy Rouleau, Providence College
"Just do it. I was unsure about going on the trip and signed up in November with the idea that I didn't need to worry about it because it was so far away. Then when it was finally here I became really hesitant. I had a lot going on at school and I didn't really feel I was prepared. NOTHING CAN PREPARE YOU FOR THIS AWESOME EXPERIENCE. I quickly learned this and realized that it is truly something that everyone must do at least once in their lives. As I sit here and write this I still have that wonderful feeling in my heart about my experience there. I wish I was still there and I definitely plan on returning very soon. It is an experience of a lifetime and you only come out of it a better person."
Christine Servant, Providence College
"The trip was awesome. I had so much fun getting to know the children and the other volunteers. The smiles that we brought to each child's face were unforgettable."
Kristine Sjogren, Providence College
"I absolutely loved teaching and I wish we could have spent more time in the classrooms. I thought it was great that we were able to plan our own lessons, which enabled us to have fun with it and be creative. I also loved going to the Haiti market and the hike at the beach. It was a great way to end the week. Overall, it was just amazing to make so many kids smile and be able to share our love with them."
Stacey Smith-Israel, Providence College
"It is truly a life altering experience. I recognized the many aspects of American culture that were unnecessary and revolved solely around material pleasures in comparison to the lifestyles of the people I encountered on my trip. These children touched my heart and soul in so very many ways it is impossible to convey with words. The Dominican people are remarkable human beings. Take that leap out of the world you know so well and embark on this journey. You will walk away a changed Individual."
Lara Thompson, Providence College
"If you ever wondered if one person can make a difference in the world, this trip will show you that it is possible. You will love it!"

"OO truly changes lives. The children I worked with were unbelievably grateful for the opportunity they had been given to learn English, and embraced it with all of their hearts and minds. Furthermore, I was eternally touched by their compassion and drive. We learned from each other, and they inspired me to continue working with individuals less fortunate than I."
Kathryn Wood, Providence College
"[Outreach360] allowed me to gain a week's worth of invaluable experience in both public health and the medical field - what I learned and saw can definitely be applied to my future career goals. I suggest a health corps trip to anyone interested in international medicine since it is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in an amazing culture with truly unforgettable people and experiences that will last a lifetime. The ability to directly interact with the people of the country proved that [Outreach360] makes a difference in the Dominican Republic."
Danielle Brooks, Providence College

"[Outreach360] changed my life. Never again will I take everything that I have for granted. In the Dominican Republic I met people who had nothing and were willing to give you everything. Their selfless love has made an impression on me that I will carry with me forever and try to live out in my day to day life."
Alison Trainor, Providence College
"The [Outreach360] trip was a life-changing experience for me. The opportunity to immerse yourself in a completely different culture while learning a new language and a new way of life is an opportunity that won't last forever. Take advantage of the opportunity to serve the Dominican people and you won't regret your decision."
Julianne Welsh, Providence College
"[Outreach360] has been a conduit not only for services for the orphanage and the community they live in, but also to my own personal growth. [Outreach360] is an example of the validity of the adage that it is in giving that you receive."
Mary Zeigler, Penn State University

Sarah Kaminski, Penn State University

Hannah Hunsinger, Penn State University
"My trip with [Outreach360] was a real eye-opener. I have to admit I was very nervous about spending a month of my summer in a foreign country with no one I knew, but looking back, I wish I would have signed up to stay longer. OO is a very organized organization that is held together with leaders who truly care for you and do their best to help you make this the experience of a lifetime. This trip has completely changed my life and I quickly realized how blessed I am. These children have impacted my life in more ways than one. God's love shown through them in ways I did not know was possible, and my prayer for you is that you will take the chance to see it for yourself. God is awesome!! I highly recommend jumping on a plane and heading to the Dominican Republic for the summer. You will never be the same. Don't think twice, or you will regret it!"
Jaci Wiltjer, Purdue University Calumet
"Always smile. The kids are happy when you are happy :)"
Jessica Tabor, Purdue University Calumet
"Once you've experienced the love and joy at [Outreach360], you will not come back the same person!"
Angelita Reyes, Purdue University Calumet
"Ask not what the world can do for you, ask what you can do for the world. Our main advisor for this trip told us this quote during one of our meetings. One of [Outreach360]'s principles is "It's Not About You," and I think many volunteers will find that that statement is true. While our stay was comfortable, there was still quite a few things that we had to give up for this trip but after serving the kids in the Dominican Republic, none of those things seem to matter. There were times I was uncomfortable but I just had to remember that I am doing this for the community, not me."
Donna Sadural, Purdue University Calumet
"Definitly go, its a chance in life that you shouldn't push aside. It's an amazing experience."
Presley Paananen, Queen Margaret's School

Without a single exception, all my students have said their trip was the best experience of their lives."
Tamara Murdoch, Queen Margaret's School

"A well run program with effective leaders who provide a safe environment for young people to learn about a developing country and a different way of life. An excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to make giving a way of living."
Angela Andersen, Queen Margaret's School
"I went to Monte Cristi expecting sad, impoverished people without anything happy in their lives. But when I actually saw them, I realized that, sure, they are very very impoverished, but they are happy. And I realized the reason for this was because there is so much love in Monte Cristi. When we'd walk through the streets of Monte Cristi, everyone would greet us with a huge smile and friendly wave. Children would come running out of their homes to say "hola! The kids at the orphanage would always hug us, hold our hands, and tell us how important we are to them. The children at JFK would grab our hands and drag us out to recess as soon as the bell rang, where we'd play endless games together. They, too, gave generous hugs and even kisses. There is so much love in Monte Cristi, it feels as if my heart has grown immensely from the experience."
Emilie Carpentier, Queen Margaret's School
"The trip was not about how much it cost, it was about something that you can do to the world."
Dong Lee, Queen Margaret's School
"Definitly go, its a chance in life that you shouldn't push aside. Its an mazing experience."
Presley Paananen, Queen Margaret's School
"[Outreach360] is a program like no other, in a society like no other. The staff and interns are amazing and supportive. The children are eager and passionate. I learned so much and and gained more insight than I ever had in any of my classes. These people need as much health education and clinical support as they can get. Words cannot sufficiently describe how I feel or the impact that I know I've made there. You have to go and experience it for yourself."
Mary Baker, Quinnipiac University
"I would definitely recommend that anyone and everyone go for at least a week because the experience is so worth it. You will come home with much more than you bargained for!"

"It is a life-changing, wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to go again."
Scarlett Reilly
"[Outreach360] is something that changed my life. It was an experience that tested my limits, humbled me, and showed me a glimpse of reality. The world isn't an extended version of what I call home, and I couldn't have realized that, and the pending problems, without first stepping outside of what I know. [Outreach360] granted me that opportunity, and it also granted me the opportunity to serve others that desperately need it."
Lauren Shipton, University of Maryland
"Of the many organizations I have volunteered with overseas, [Outreach360] has the efficiency of a much larger NGO. But the reasonable costs and personal attention are more typical of a smaller outfit. I would certainly recommend the experience to people of all ages, although I deplored my minimal Spanish language skills. It would have been more meaningful for me if I could have communicated with the kids better."
Dorothy Conlon
"[Outreach360] is a unique way to experience true service. Living, playing, and talking to the children, you will experience a mutual giving unlike any other. The children are so open to share their lives, experiences, and laughter with you, and they have the deepest level of gratitude and appreciation for your time and love. Living in the orphanage, you will experience a life of simplicity and a life of complexity. Simplicity, because you will discover in new ways, that it is truly the simple things in life that are important: conversations, sharing smiles, playing games, or reading a book. Complexity, because you will realize the things that we take for granted in the US, and you will experience a deep personal realization process. I encourage anyone who has the courage to consider this experience to leave expectations behind, dive in head first, and completely open your self to whatever the trip may bring for you."
Alexis Harris, Rhodes College
"Through teaching in Esperanza, I not only saw results in the students I was teaching, but I realized the kids were teaching me not to take myself so seriously. Now back at school, I find myself "being gumby" all the time, whether in traffic or class or whatever. It really reprioritizes your life!"
Kate Hazelrig, Rhodes College
"If you ever in your life get this opportunity and you let it pass you by, you cannot feel as if you have lived your life to the fullest. There will always be a gap, and your soul's yearning will not ever be satisfied."
Lance Ingwerson, Rhodes College
"When I arrived at the orphanage early in the morning, I was not sure what to expect. Once we began interacting with the kids and the week began to unfold, I had no problem waking up early in the morning to begin the day. If we would have had two weeks for spring break, I would have had no problem spending both weeks in Esperanza. The kids welcomed us when we arrived and watched with tears in their eyes when we left. To learn English in the Dominican Republic is very important, and the kids thrived to learn it. It was like no other experience ever. Everyone was there for the same reason-to help make the orphanage a better place to live and learn for the kids."
Casey Smolarz, Rhodes College
"The seven weeks I spent in Esperanza were the absolute best of my life. I have probably never been in a more challenging environment, but the rewards so far outweighed the challenges that is was amazing. The boys are so anxious to be loved. It was incredible to watch the changes in their attitudes, actions, words, and hearts as they learned that they were loved and capable of loving. My only regret from the entire summer was the fact that I had to leave after what seemed like such a short time. Each child will remain a part of my heart forever."
Stacy Baker, Rhodes College
"This trip was truly a life-changing experience. It opened my eyes to many cultural issues that affect the Dominican Republic, allowed me to have an impact on children that are not as fortunate as I am, and inspired me to make a difference in my own community!"
Pareen Bathia, Rice University

Deborah Huang, Rice University

Caitlin Topham, Rice University
"In my two months there, I developed great relationships with both children and volunteers, showing me a part of life in which Dominicans are perhaps more enriched. After the first week, I felt completely immersed in the culture, and always looked forward to playing with the kids. Despite my service, I felt the DR gave me more than what I gave them."
Rodolfo Velasquez, Rice University
"The children are amazing. The experience gave me a new perspective on life... especially regarding the unimportance of material things."
Stephanie Zimmerman
"I really enjoyed teaching the English Camp at Haibon. I loved the children at the orphanage and very much enjoyed the activities with the children. It was an amazing experience. Even though I was more than double the age of all the other volunteers and interns at the orphanage, I felt accepted and at no time did I ever feel out of place or that I did not belong. All the volunteers worked together for the common good of the youth we were there to serve."
Brenda Rinkes
"An experience like this is unforgettable and makes you want to have more and more of them."
Julia Freeman, Roanoke College
"The kids help you just as much as you help them. It's an experience that leaves you feeling fulfilled with love and a new outlook on the world."
Julie Freeman, Roanoke College
"[Outreach360] was the greatest week of my life. I got to share myself with wonderful children who are full of love. Even if we couldn't always understand each other's words, we could reach each other's hearts through smiles and hugs. The experience gave me a new perspective on life and a better sense of myself. I strongly recommend it to anyone with an open mind and a big heart. You can make a difference to these children, and they will certainly make a difference in your life."
Jessica Hench, Roanoke College
"Serving through [Outreach360] is an amazing opportunity given to young adults as well as adults of any age. By living in the Dominican Republic for only a week, with the children, I was able to look at life in a totally different way. Life is simple, and isn't meant to be rushed, we had so much more of the day by getting up at sunrise. Having this opportunity behind me will allow me to remember that simple life and strive to live more like that, to slow down, and to enjoy the little things. I recommend [Outreach360], it has changed me, and has allowed me to grow."
Emma Jones, Roanoke College
"This experience is almost too powerful to put into words. The smiles, love, and affection these children have to share can create a deep impact and remarkable life lesson that will carry with you throughout your life."
Ashley Kaplan, Roanoke College
"Just having the opportunity to get to know people from an entirely different world was an amazing and life changing experience. I learned as much, if not more from the kids than they learned from me. Hanging out and becoming part of their lives was the most awesome part. Such an adventure! The biggest thing I learned was how trivial words are. People are people everywhere and they ways that I could communicate with the kids, and the way that they could communicate with me was exciting and uplifting."
Lara Scudder, Roanoke College
"I was hesitant to travel such a distance to an unknown location with my wife and two children. It seemed like something I "should" do, serving others. What I encountered was one of the most powerful and transformative experiences of my life, and for my children. This is a safe bet for a family service vacation. You are safe and cared for so you can focus on the service opportunities, which are protean."
Brett Robbins
"I'm still at a loss for words on how to explain it to people, just like Christina said during the closing. The highlight was watching my children unfold in the midst of the children. I was quite impressed with Christina and her organization and leadership, friendly demeanor, and straight talk. It was also a treat to have Thomas there personally to talk with, and the extra time he gave me in showing me the medical situation in the area was above and beyond, and greatly appreciated. We all came back positively changed, although we're still sifting through how! I felt safe, protected, and cared for the entire trip. It freed me up from thinking of those things to actually focus on the children."
Brett Robbins
"I had the most amazing four weeks in the Dominican Republic with [Outreach360]. I left the states hoping to have fun and make a difference. I returned having done both, but more importantly I flew home having made great friends in the other volunteers, humbled and inspired by the children, and in love with the culture and language of the DR. I would go back in a heart beat and recommend this program to anyone!"
Natalie Taylor
"Go!"
Robert Wright
"My family loved it. Each member found someone near his age who was a real friend."
Kathy Rosenberg
"The week went by so quickly. I never expected to see so many other volunteers with similar desires of serving lesser-privileged populations develop close personal ties among themselves. I was thrilled to come away with new friends and a collective appreciation among our team members for the impact that our visit had on both the Dominicans we encountered and ourselves. I hope to return."
Duane Rosenberg
"This is cultural immersion at its best while you are simaltaneously serving others. The staff is knowledgeable and dedicated and the facilities are so well designed that within a day you cease to feel that you are doing without and become more "need-only" centered. I felt that my safety was never compromised while my comfort zone was perhaps challenged a bit (a good thing!) This experience willl change your life and, through you, others around you for the better!""
Debora Smith
"OO was a wonderful experience for every member of our group. We grew in our Faith and in our views of the world. It would be impossible to come here with an open heart and an open mind and not come away a better person. We received multiples of what we gave!"
James Smith
"My week at the orphanage was the best week of my life. The love in the eyes of these children is unlike any you have ever seen and it makes you forget about all of the meaningless troubles of your life."
Kathryn Smith
"It is a great safe clean place to be."
Tommy Wright
"Highlights of the trip were going to the clinic and providing health screenings as well as vaccinations to the local population in the bateys with doctor Garcia. The experience at Dajabon was also really great. I was able to see how other people less fortunate were living their lives."
Glenn Abastillas, Rutgers University
"[Outreach360] was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only do we get to make friends with people from all over the world, we are given the opportunity to make a difference. Poco a Poco, we are doing great things."
Ashley Akhter, Rutgers University
"Saying that I enjoyed my time spent with [Outreach360] is an understatement. This trip was truly amazing and life changing. I was able to use my nursing skills and knowledge to help so many and in return they taught me a lot, too. This is an experience that will last with me forever, and hopefully my team and I will be going back next year! I 100% recommend that you volunteer with this great organization!"
Lauren Bell, Rutgers University
"[Outreach360] was a volunteer experience that I will never forget. I would encourage anyone that is thinking about going on a service trip, such as this one, to definitely sign-up. My trip to the DR not only exposed me to a culture so different from my own, but it taught me a lot about myself that I could not have learned any other way. I am very grateful to have had this opportunity."
Kendall Blalock, Rutgers University
"It was possibly the most rewarding experience in my life so far. It's really humbling to step out of the US and see first hand the reality of other people's lives. And then to be able to contribute something exciting and fun to all those students' lives is amazing."
Erin Delaney, Rutgers University
"[Outreach360] was an amazing experience. Immersing yourself totally in another culture and learning and growing with the kids has had a significant impact on the way I view life in the Dominican Republic and here in America."
Melissa Fiscus, Rutgers University
"The [Outreach360] experience is one like no other. The growth you experience in one week is immense and irreplaceable. My week at OO will undoubtedly remain in my head and more importantly my heart forever."
Alexis Krupinski, Rutgers University
"The hike up the mountain, the food that was exceptional, the interns were fully engaged in the whole experience and were well informed of everything, the trip to Dajabon market, and the hospital visit was eye-opening."
DIANA LWANGA, Rutgers University
"This trip is unbelievably worth it. Seeing a child's face light up when you read to them or even just smile makes the whole trip unbelievable."
Yevgeniya Nepomnyashchaya, Rutgers University
"[Outreach360] is an all-around feel-good program. You are given opportunities to experience a culture outside of your own, to network with different persons, to do good and positively affect others, to realize skills and attitudes in yourself that you weren't aware of before, and to appreciate all the good things you are blessed with in your life."
Thien-Thanh Nguyen, Rutgers University
"it was a great learning experience and you will feel different on your return home knowing the differences you made in their lives"
Lindsey Pachuta, Rutgers University
"The trip was a truly phenomenal experience for me. I went into this trip, like most people, feeling that it would be a truly rewarding and humbling experience. It turned out it was that and so much more. I felt so fantastic this past week with feelings of gratitude, appreciation, and a whole new perspective. I've never had anyone appreciate the work I've done for them as much as the people in the DR did. It was a truly refreshing and revitalizing experience. I also feel I gained a lot of insight into an entirely different culture. In the states we are born, raised, and bred to be ethnocentric; experiences such as the one I had with OO allows you to look at yourself and our society critically and to rethink many aspects of your life. I really would like to thank everyone involved at OO program for the best experience I could have asked for because the trip was everything I could imagined it would be and ten times more."
